I had a great start to my trip to Paris, I went to the train station to catch the Eurostar and I was greeted by hundreds of angry people waiting in the most ridiculous line to get refunds. Awesome, all of the trains had been cancelled due to a fire in the channel tunnel. So after some delay I finally made it to Paris, but I now only had three nights.
Paris was such a beautiful city and there was so much I wanted to see, but it was so cold! The obvious highlight was the Eiffel Tower, which was so amazing to see in real life, it was so huge. I actually visited it three times. Once in the day, once at night, and then on my last day I went and climbed it. Which included 700 stairs, and that was only to the second level, as the top was closed for maintenance. My favourite moment in Paris was ice-skating on the Eiffel Tower, such a cool and unexpected thing to be doing!
Some other sights that I visited included, the Arc de Triomphe, which had the most amazing views of Paris! Almost better than the Eiffel Tower, because you can actually see the Eiffel Tower from there, as well as all of the avenues running parallel to each other. I was given a mini tour of the city by a friend that I met in London who lived in Paris, she took me to Notre Dame, Luxembourg Gardens and to the Pantheon. Following these beautiful sights we had snails and wine, such a classic French combination and so good! The snails were so delicious and I highly recommend them!
I did so much walking while in Paris, but it was all worth it, to see as much of the city as I could in three days. A few other places I went to were the Sacre Coeur, Moulin Rouge and the Montmartre district. I will definitely be going back to Paris, but this time in summer, the winter was just a wee bit too cold for me.
