I know, how cliche, a post on January 1st reflecting on my year. But come on, this is a white girl’s travel blog, what did you expect? I’ve had quite the year though. With break ups and make ups, copious amounts of alcohol, new countries, new friends and of course failing at my 2015 resolution, eat better and work out more. I’ll try again this year.
I’ve been lucky enough to travel to Europe twice in one year, and now I even live here, is this real life? My January trip was the best thing I’ve ever done, first time travelling alone, as well as completing two of my university papers in one of the oldest universities in Europe.
I also graduated last year, managed to finish my degree in two and a half years, which is one of my biggest achievements and I am so proud of myself for that. My degree has now taken me to the other side of the world to be an English teacher, if you told me that two years ago I probably would have laughed in your face.
Moving to Spain was the hardest but best decision I’ve ever made. I’ve been here three months today and I’ve had the best three months of my life, and met the most amazing people. I’ve had my fair share of stress and tears (Julia crying.. no way) but it’s all been worth it.
This blog is almost a year old as well, and somehow it’s had over 3,000 views! I can’t wait to share my travels in the coming year, it’s going to be a big one. Kicking it off with a spontaneous trip to Valencia tomorrow. Let’s keep this short and sweet, currently in the foetal position nursing my hangover, gin finally got the better of me.
So here’s to 2016, can’t wait to see what you have in store.
